Abstract
This thesis is about the impact of the socioeconomic setting (SES) and family planning program effort (PE) and indicators at the level of the governorate on the governorate contraceptive prevalence. It examines variations in Contraceptive prevalence rates in the light of some selected indicators. The guiding framework of the study depends on the work of Lapham and Mauldin (1985). The study indicated that socioeconomic setting and family planning program effort work most effectively together. Governorates that rank high on both SES and PE generally have higher contraceptive prevalence than do governorates that rank high on just one, and still more than the governorates that rank high on neither.
In sum, the results suggest that the modified version of the framework of Lapham and Mauldin (1985) is a useful starting point for understanding relationship among factors that affect contraceptive prevalence at the level of the governorate in Egypt. |
